AccountantAccountants and auditors prepare and examine financial records, identify potential areas of opportunity and risk, and provide solutions for businesses and individuals. They ensure that financial records are accurate, that financial and data risks are evaluated, and that taxes are paid properly.Pay Rate: $65,000-75,000The Accountant is responsible for ensuring that the client has accurate financial records. This position will assist in making critical financial decisions by collecting, tracking, and correcting the company's finances.
This role includes preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, assisting with managing budgets and forecasts, ensuring timely tax filings, and participating in audits.Essential duties of Position:Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account informationAssist in preparation of analysis of year end audit schedules, reconciliations, and participation in audit processes as requestedAssist in month end and year end close including journal entries, prepaid, accruals, fixed assets, revenue recognition, and accounting consolidationPrepare daily cash position update for companyEnsure Balance Sheet accounts are reconciled on a recurring basis as requiredAssist in preparation of monthly financial statements, creation of financial packages for President review meetings, and final monthly distribution of resultsPrepare monthly banking requirements including Borrowing Base Certificate and quarterly bank covenant calculationsPrepare analysis of variances between budgets, prior year, and actual results and year end audit schedules and reconciliationsPrepare state taxes – including sales, highway use, petroleum business tax, and other tax/governmental reporting tasksSupport the annual external financial statement and benefit plan auditsRecommend opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction initiatives across all businesses and participate in processes to addressCollaborate with other departments to get information to assist in understanding financial results and variancesProvide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-makingOther duties assigned by managementQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)Three (3) to Five (5) years of verifiable related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (required)Manufacturing experience (preferred)Experience with State Tax Regulations (preferred)CPA certification strongly preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed:Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS, etc.)Must possess general math skills and ability to identify numerical errorsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detailStrong knowledge of and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks Online, LeaseCrunch (ASC842), and/or other related ERP accounting and tax software including AvalaraAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and detail-orientedWhy is This a Great OpportunityAre you ready to be part of a company that has been setting the standard in the automotive, heavy-duty, and industrial lubricant industry since 1979?
