AccountantAs infrastructure critical to the region's growth and prosperity, BNA is a vital asset for Middle Tennessee and serves as a gateway to Music City and beyond. According to a recent State of Tennessee study, in 2019 alone, BNA generated more than $9.9 billion in total economic impact. BNA supported more than 76,000 jobs in the region and produced more than $443 million in state, local and federal taxes.

BNA receives no local tax dollars.The Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, reconciling general ledger and sub-ledgers, providing ad-hoc analyses, and researching and interpreting data to answer accounting and finance questions. Also responsible for the daily accounts receivable processing functions including processing daily deposits, matching daily deposits to invoices, creating monthly and ad hoc invoices, monitoring accounts receivable balances. Other responsibilities include communicating with internal and external business partners, as needed, creating and maintaining accurate accounts receivable records including verifying invoices and deposits are coded accurately.Essential job responsibilities include reconciling various balance sheet and income statement accounts to the general ledger and sub-ledgers, preparing bank reconciliations, preparing and entering journal entries into general ledger, preparing roll forwards for long-term debt, entering bank transactions into general ledger from daily cash files from Treasury, entering daily parking cash and revenue into the general ledger, monitoring prepaid expense balance and preparing monthly entry to amortize, assisting with the year-end audit, including balance sheet reconciliation and footnote preparation, processing daily deposits in Accounts Receivable (AR) System and General Ledger System (GL), including reviews GL for coding accuracy, processing monthly and ad hoc invoices, communicating with both internal and external business partners to research and resolve issues as needed, analyzing data and reports any problems or discrepancies to management, creating and maintaining accurate records, including deposit files, reconciling GL accounts for Month and Year-ends, preparing month-end and year-end accruals, preparing reclassing journal entries, recording statistical info in AR System, maintaining regular and on-time attendance, following all safety regulations, supporting MNAA's commitment to its culture and values, including Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence (RISE), and performing other duties as assigned.Knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics include analytical thinking, communication, accounting, relationship building, accounting applications, computer use, managing workload, Microsoft Windows, time management, teamwork, Microsoft Office, reporting, written comprehension, attention to detail, ethical behavior, professionalism, flexibility, independence, and ability to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge.Qualifications: Required: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field, 1 to 2 years of related experience.
