Accountant PositionGauzy is a world-leading material science company, focused on the research, development, manufacturing, and marketing of vision and light control technologies that support safe, sustainable, comfortable, and agile user experiences across various industries.We are looking for a talented Accountant to join the finance department in a cutting-edge business environment.The Accountant will prepare financial reports to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.Joining the Gauzy team means being part of an elite group of innovators with a passion for creating future-defining and groundbreaking technologies that shape our everyday lives.ResponsibilitiesPerforms general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.Maintains the general ledger.Tabulates and submits employee payroll.Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.Files required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.Coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software system; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.Performs month end & year end close processes.Performs other related duties as assigned.Ensures adherence to US GAAP reporting standards.Supports global finance operations and collaborates with international teams.Assists in maintaining and documenting SOX related controls (if applicable).RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline requiredTwo to five years of accounting experience requiredExtensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accountingUnderstanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principlesHighly proficient with accounting softwareExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar softwareKnowledge and practical understanding of US GAAP – advantageExperience with SAP or other large ERP systems – strong advantageExperience working in a global, multi currency environment – advantageFamiliarity with SOX compliance requirements – advantage/optionalProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computerMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
