AccountantPRIMARY FUNCTION As Accountant at Bayou Bend Health System, you are under the general supervision of the Controller. The Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounts payable clerk, the accounting department and works with department directors, managers, supervisors and hospital staff as required. This position has no direct reporting employees.RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIESAssists with preparation of 1099's and W2'sPrepares bi-weekly FTE report & other payroll related reporting as assignedAccounts Payable support/backupCompletes reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts monthlyResponsible for fixed asset records including additions, disposals and recording of the appropriate depreciationPrepares and posts monthly journal entries as assignedMaintains amortization and/or prepaid schedules as assignedAssists with annual audit and cost reportResponsible for miscellaneous accounts receivable invoicing, payment posting and reconciliationAssists with the preparation of monthly sales tax returns and SUTA returnsCompletes daily, monthly, and annual reporting of statistics, including journal entriesAll other responsibilities as assigned and deemed necessary by the Controller/CFODESIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGECollege graduate with a degree in accounting or finance preferred.2-5 years' work experience in accounting industry; healthcare industry preferred.Computer literate; proficient in Microsoft Windows, Excel and Word.Attention to detailExcellent customer service and communication skills, both written and oralEqual Employment Opportunity Statement It is the policy of Bayou Bend Health System to provide equal opportunity to all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, disability, or any other regard as required by law.
