Accountant IIThe Accountant II will play a key role within the accounting and finance team, supporting the execution of accounting procedures to ensure the company's books and records are maintained in accordance with U.S. GAAP. This role is responsible for preparing journal entries, maintaining the general ledger and related transactions, and assisting in the design and implementation of controls for the company's SOX program.
Additional responsibilities include supporting ad hoc accounting projects, internal controls, regulatory and compliance reporting, technical accounting research, accrual analysis, and performing monthly account reconciliations.Responsibilities:Perform month-end, quarterly and year-end close processesPrepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation, including accounting for prepaid expenses and other current assets, pass-through transactions (e.g. property and sale taxes) and lessee accounting transactions (such as Right of Use lease assets and operating lease liabilities)Perform monthly bank reconciliations across numerous banksPrepare and process customer payments received via ACH, and wire payments dailyAnalyze accounting records for discrepancies, research unusual items, and implement corrections to preserve data integrity across the general ledgerPrepare account reconciliations and upload recons to FloQast timelyPrepare the weekly (and eventually daily) reconciliation of loan & finance lease net investment as well as operating lease net investmentEnsure accuracy, validity, and completeness of all documentation necessary to meet organizational, industry, and government regulatory requirementsAssist with transition of Fixed Assets accounting to shared service teamSupport audits, quarterly and year-end financial processesUpdate process and procedure documentations to keep them currentCollaborate with the corporate accounting team to resolve outstanding issues as they ariseComplete all regulatory training as required in a timely mannerQualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred2+ years' accounting experienceProficiency using Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Strong written and verbal communication and listening skillsAbility to multitask and meet communication deadlinesAdherence to policies and proceduresAxos Employee Benefits May Include:Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life InsurancePaid Sick Leave, 3 weeks' Vacation, and Holidays (about 11 a year)HSA or FSA account and other voluntary benefits401(k) Retirement Saving Plan with Employer Match Program and 529 Savings PlanEmployee Mortgage Loan Program and free access to an Axos Bank Account with Self-Directed TradingAbout AxosBorn digital-first, Axos delivers financial tools and services that allow individuals, small businesses, and companies to access and manage their money how, when, and where they want.
