Location: Wyoming, MI
Compensation : $35,000 - $45,000
Schedule: 24-30 hours per week, OR Full Time / 40 hours

Our client, a mission-driven nonprofit organization, is seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Accountant to join their team. This position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and wants to make a meaningful impact through their work. Key Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 20-40 employees, including reviewing reports, making adjustments, and submitting payroll for processing.
• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
• Support general ledger accounting activities and maintain accurate financial records.
• Review accounts payable and accounts receivable reconciliations completed by other team members and post finalized entries.
• Assist with audit preparation and ongoing accounting projects.
• Generate and analyze financial reports utilizing Excel and accounting software

Qualifications

Required

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, account balancing, and reconciliations.
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to generate and manipulate reports.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

Preferred

• Previous accounting experience in a nonprofit environment.
• Retail accounting experience.
• Inventory reconciliation experience.
• Experience with international banking, currency exchanges, or foreign transactions.
• Experience using Abila MIP, Shopify, CounterPoint, or similar accounting and inventory systems
