Accountant

Accountant PositionWe are seeking a detail-oriented accountant to analyze financial information, prepare reports, and ensure accuracy in financial processes. This role will play a key part in supporting month-end close, maintaining financial integrity, and collaborating cross-functionally to improve accounting operations. Work location: candidate must be located and work from our corporate office in Fargo, ND.

Core responsibilities include:Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reportingPrepare and analyze month-end financial statements, including accruals and expense reviewsResearch and resolve variances, posting errors, and unusual trends in financial dataSupport audit preparation and year-end workpapersCollaborate with departments to provide accounting guidance on transactions, projects, and system updatesAssist with daily accounting tasks such as journal entries, check runs, and vendor settlementsContribute to process improvements, system implementations, and testing effortsParticipate in special projects (e.g., fixed assets, sales tax, incentive programs)Required qualifications include:Bachelor's degree in accounting (or related field)2–4 years of accounting experienceStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillsIntermediate Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft OfficeAttention to detail with strong accuracy in financial workAbility to identify issues, research solutions, and recommend improvementsEffective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teamsStrong time management and ability to meet deadlinesAs a family business for three generations, we currently employ over 900 associates in 20 locations throughout North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, and Nebraska.
