Position Overview: The Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records and supporting all aspects of the month-end close process. This role delivers clear, insightful analyses of financial performance to management and helps drive operational excellence by identifying opportunities to enhance processes and strengthen financial systems.

Your Day to Day as an Accountant:

• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all transactions are properly recorded.
• Prepare and review journal entries to support the month-end close process.
• Complete monthly and quarterly account reconciliations.
• Analyze capital spending and perform ROI evaluations.
• Produce timely financial reports, ad-hoc analyses, and actionable insights for management.
• Uphold data integrity through thorough reconciliations and review procedures.
• Ensure compliance with SOX controls and support internal and external audit requests.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements.
• Assist with quarterly forecasting activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across multiple financial systems.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3 years of experience in a finance or accounting role.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organizational & analytical skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information.
• Ability to report to work onsite at BWXT's Erwin, TN office location.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5-10 years' experience in accounting and finance.
• Master's degree in accounting or finance.
• CPA or CMA certification.
• Experience with multi-site accounting operations.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and their implementation.
• Experience in SAP and OneStream.

Pay: $70,000 - $103,000
