AccountantAccountant I will perform a variety of activities in the preparation, examination, and interpretation of accounting and financial records, reports, and statements. The incumbent will be involved with the general ledger, budget, month end closing, and other cost/financial analyses compliant with all company and GAAP policies.Responsibilities include assembling plant expense analysis and report updates to the staff on a regular basis, coordinating the accounts payable function for all plant operations, preparing bank reconciliations for all operating, disbursement, payroll, and investment accounts, and preparing specific monthly journal entries, sales tax returns, and warranty expense account analysis.
The role also involves analyzing and reconciling any discrepancies within the general accounting functions, reporting on utility use, expenditures, etc. and providing analysis for senior management review, settling and closing production orders, investigating production variances, providing research assistance as required, responding to inquiries and requests from internal sources, assisting as backup for payroll, daily invoicing, and sales updating, providing payroll approval, observing all procedures and policies in accordance with GAAP, company policy, and federal/state regulations, reviewing all purchase orders and providing updates to the plant manager regarding exceptions and expense levels, reconciling all expenses to budget, providing internal financial audits and cycle count audits – issue reporting, preparing trial balance analysis, and performing other activities as needed or as requested.Qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field, internship, co-op, or 1-2 years of accounting experience preferred, strong Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis), experience with ERP systems preferred (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Infor, Epicor, NetSuite, etc.), and manufacturing or inventory accounting exposure preferred but not required.
