Accountant & Financial System Support

NYK Group Americas Inc. AccountantThis position is for employment with NYK Group Americas Inc. This position requires on-site presence four days per week. This position is responsible for daily accounting operations, supporting month-end close activities, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

The role also provides system support for Sage Intacct and Emburse Chromeriver, helping to optimize processes, troubleshoot issues, and enhance overall system efficiency across the organization.ResponsibilitiesAccountant Responsibilities:Preparation of monthly financial statements using Sage Intacct, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to reporting deadlines for several companiesAbility to manage month-end close processes, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparationStrong understanding of internal controls, audit, and compliance requirementsHigh attention to detail with the ability to analyze and resolve accounting issuesPrepare reconciliation, analysis of balance sheet and P&L accounts, and proactively identifying and resolving variancesPerform bank reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of discrepanciesPrepare monthly journal entries and maintain general ledger integrity within Sage IntacctManage intercompany accounting activities, including reconciliations and balance confirmations across entities within Sage Intacct's multi-entity environmentPerform weekly A/P check runs and ensure accuracy and timeliness of vendor paymentsMonitor daily A/R cash application processes, maintaining clean and accurate receivable balancesIssue billings for internal and external customers using Sage IntacctInvestigate, track, and resolve reconciling items and disputes, collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholdersFinancial System Support Responsibilities:Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and automation initiatives by leveraging Sage Intacct functionality and reporting toolsDevelop and generate custom reports and financial insights in Sage Intacct to support departmental and management decision-makingProvide ongoing support for the company's expense and invoice management system (Emburse Chrome River), including configuring UI updates and maintaining system functionalityMaintain and monitor the integration (API connection) between Sage Intacct and Chrome River, ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and timely issue resolutionOther Responsibilities:Assist the VP in the preparation and coordination of the annual budgeting process, including data gathering and analysisSupport the CFO in monitoring cash balances, providing timely updates and insights to support liquidity managementPerform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting, delivering actionable insights on special projects and management requestsQualifications• BS/BA in Accounting or Finance required • 5 - 10 years of accounting experience, with strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, accounting principles, and financial reporting requirements• Extensive hands-on experience with Sage Intacct, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, creating reports, configuration, security setup within a multi- entity environment.• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments• Transportation or logistics industry experience is a plusCompensation for this role: $65,000- $75,000Benefits - NYK offers a generous Employee Benefits Package including:Medical, Dental, and Vision401k with a company match and Pension PlanFlexible Spending Accounts, Life Insurance, Tuition Assistance Program, Vacation, and much more.Any and all benefits offered are subject to the eligibility requirements, terms, and provisions set forth in the respective policies and plan documents, which you may request from Human Resources.About NYK Group Americas Inc.Founded in 1885, Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK Line) has become a leader in global marine transport by meeting challenges head on and achieving steady growth.
