The Department of Juvenile Justice is seeking an individual to serve as the Account Technician I under general supervision of the Business Administrator at the IYC Warrenville. The incumbent in this role will prepare all facility time and attendance records, calculate and record time usage and provide information and assistance to employees. The incumbent will identify discrepancies and research information to resolve. The incumbent will serve as liaison for the Timekeeping department and verify that filing systems are maintained. The incumbent will verify the accuracy of prepared reports by reviewing them prior to submission to payroll. IDJJ encourages all interested and qualified individuals to apply.nnEssential Functions:nnUnder general supervision, receives, reviews, and maintains all facility time and attendance records.nPrepares and audits complex financial documents for the facility.nPrepares Payroll Time Report.nMonitors the daily functions and activities of the timekeeping department.nMonitors, reviews, and assembles data for monthly sick time usage summary report.nServes as back up to other Account Technician I’s.nPerforms other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.nnMinimum Qualifications:nnRequires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college and completion of an approved training course or three (3) years of related clerical bookkeeping experience.nQualifying state employees in the employee Upward Mobility Program, may complete combinations of specific proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the state requirements for this classification.nnPreferred Qualifications (In Order of Significance):nnPrefers working knowledge of accounting techniques.nPrefers working knowledge of state or non-state accounting procedures.nPrefers working knowledge of office methods and procedures.nPrefers working knowledge of principles and functions of standard office accounting machines and equipment.nPrefers ability to supervise a small staff of subprofessionals.nPrefers ability to apply established accounting techniques.nnConditions of Employment:nnRequires the ability to pass an Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC)/Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice (IDJJ) background check.nRequires ability to pass a drug screen.
