Account Director – Medical Communications Agency

Are you an experienced healthcare communications professional looking to make a meaningful impact in a highly specialized and strategic environment?

A growing agency partner is seeking an Account Director to lead client relationships and oversee the execution of innovative KOL engagement, Commercial, and Medical Affairs initiatives across a diverse portfolio of pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients.

This is an exciting opportunity for a client-facing leader who enjoys partnering with key stakeholders, driving strategic discussions, and helping shape programs that influence scientific exchange and stakeholder engagement.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the primary strategic and day-to-day client lead across multiple accounts.
  • Lead the planning and execution of KOL engagement programs, including advisory boards, insight gathering, speaker initiatives, and peer-to-peer engagement activities.
  • Partner closely with Commercial and Medical Affairs teams to develop impactful stakeholder engagement strategies.
  • Provide strategic counsel to clients while identifying opportunities for organic account growth.
  • Oversee project scopes, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with scientific, creative, and operational teams to ensure seamless delivery of programs.
  • Mentor and develop junior account team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Drive account health, client satisfaction, and long-term partnership success.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience within a healthcare communications, medical communications, pharmaceutical advertising, or consulting environment.
  • Strong background managing pharmaceutical or biotech clients.
  • Experience leading KOL engagement initiatives and external expert programs.
  • Exposure to both Commercial and Medical Affairs functions.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex workstreams simultaneously.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and scope management.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and client relationship skills.
  • Previous experience managing and mentoring team members.
