About LegalFenix

We are a growth-focused, strategic legal marketing consultancy built to serve law firms that want long-term, sustainable results. We are not an agency selling packaged marketing services. We are our clients' outsourced marketing leadership team. We sit on the client's side of the table, protect their investment, and make sure every dollar spent is aligned with measurable business outcomes.

Our recommendations are dictated solely by client business goals. We take no kickbacks, no commissions, and no referral fees from any marketing agency. Our fiduciary duty is exclusively to the client, and that neutrality is the foundation of every fractional CMO engagement.

We work exclusively with small to mid-sized, growth-minded, consumer-focused law firms: personal injury, family law, criminal defense, employment, and estate planning. To learn more, visit https://legalfenix.com.

The Account Director Role

The Account Director is the quarterback on the field. Our Fractional CMOs set the strategy, own the client relationship, call the plays, and manage budget and channel mix. You make sure every agency and vendor runs the right route(s), and you are the person who knows, with evidence, whether the play is working.

Agencies report on visibility, traffic, and conversions. That is only half the story. You go into the client's CRM and follow marketing-sourced leads all the way through. Which ones qualified, which signed, which were lost, and why. You extract that into clear, strategic insight for your Fractional CMO, and turn it into direct, specific feedback for the agencies so they can optimize for cases that sign rather than volume that doesn’t.

You are the primary point of contact for each agency and marketing vendor on your accounts. You work in close, daily collaboration with your Fractional CMO, and your client contact is primarily with the firm's in-house marketing staff. You do not carry managing partner or leadership strategy conversations (that belongs to the Fractional CMO).

You are supported by a shared Account Manager and Project Manager who handle data entry, enrichment, and task coordination, so your time goes to validation, analysis, and judgment rather than pulling numbers.

Benefits:

  • A $500 per month health insurance stipend will be provided
  • A generous PTO policy + sick/personal days + federal holidays
  • Performance-based bonuses tied to individual results and client retention
  • A professional development budget for courses, books, conferences, and travel
  • A flexible and understanding work environment for parents looking for flexibility

Responsibilities

1. Fractional CMO Partnership and Escalation

  • Sync with your Fractional CMO weekly on the playbook and the calls being made, bring performance feedback the FCMO can act on, and carry their strategic adjustments to the agencies
  • Run regular meetings with the client's in-house marketing staff, and raise important developments, issues, and escalations to the FCMO as they arise
  • Escalate performance issues, strategic deviations, and unresolved blockers to the FCMO with context, supporting data, and a recommended path forward
  • When intake disposition data is missing or not captured as intended, flag the gap to the FCMO and give the client specific feedback on what is missing and why it matters; for TOPS clients where it is in scope, cascade the gap to our TechOps team

2. Performance Analysis and Insight

  • Review each client's CRM data to trace marketing-sourced leads through qualification, closed-won (signed cases), and closed-lost, by channel and source, digging into closed-lost reasons to understand why leads did not convert, and into closed-won attribution to understand which channels and campaigns produce cases that actually sign
  • Interpret agency and vendor reporting for paid search, paid social, SEO, and other direct-response channels, and reconcile what agencies report against what the CRM shows; evaluate brand and top-of-funnel efforts (linear and streaming television, broadcast, newsletters, community involvement) in aggregate, recognizing they are not measured with channel-level attribution
  • Deliver a concise monthly insight brief to your Fractional CMO ahead of each account's performance review: what is working, what is not, the evidence, and your recommended action
  • Validate the data entered and enriched by the Account Manager before it is used in any analysis or reporting, and own the accuracy of CMO data across HubSpot, Google Drive, and client scorecards, so client reporting reflects clean, verified data aligned with agreed KPIs

3. Agency Governance and Lead-Quality Feedback Loop

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all agencies and marketing vendors across your assigned accounts, translating the Fractional CMO's direction into clear goals, priorities, and constraints for each agency, making sure every partner executes the strategy as intended
  • Close the feedback loop with agencies on lead quality: why leads qualified, why they were disqualified (nonresponsive, no coverage, liability or fault issues, outside practice area), and which lead types are converting efficiently
  • Hold every agency and vendor accountable to agreed-upon scope, deliverables, deadlines, and documented performance expectations; review and approve work product
  • Pull in the Fractional CMO when a vendor issue shifts strategy, budget, or the client relationship

This role requires incredible attention to detail, strong project management skills, and the ability to extract insights from marketing performance and CRM reporting. If that's you, please reach out to mandi [at] legalfenix.com, subject line ROAD, and only include the time you submitted your application in the body of the email.

4. Delivery Pacing and Quality Control

  • Translate strategy into clear tasks and timelines in HubSpot Projects, ensuring full visibility for the broader pod
  • Forecast and track time against the estimates agreed with the FCMO, so LegalFenix delivers its contractual scope within allocated resources; flag variance early
  • Lead, manage, and hold accountable the shared Account Manager and Project Manager resources
  • Serve as the quality checkpoint for all work produced by agencies and internal resources before it reaches the client or the FCMO, and communicate breakdowns, missed deadlines, or quality gaps promptly, with a proposed resolution

Requirements

  • 5+ years of legal marketing experience (consultancy, agency-side, or in-house at a law firm)
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze CRM and marketing performance data and turn it into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Comfort working in lead and case data: qualification rates, sign rates, cost per signed case, closed-lost reasons, and source attribution
  • Experience managing agencies and vendors and holding them accountable to scope, timelines, and results
  • Working knowledge of paid search, paid social, and SEO deep enough to read, interrogate, and challenge agency reporting
  • Working command of HubSpot, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Search Console, CallRail, and project management software, plus strong spreadsheet skills
  • Clear, concise written communication; you can summarize what the data says for a senior audience in a page or less
  • Excellent relationship management skills with agency partners and client marketing staff
  • Available during general business hours (U.S.)

Bonus Experience

  • Experience with legal intake and CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Lead Docket, Lawmatics, or Litify
  • An understanding of law firm intake operations and how disposition data is captured
  • Experience working with in-house personal injury, family, criminal, or general practice firms
  • A background on the agency side or in client success or account leadership roles
  • Familiarity with EOS/Traction and scorecard-driven operating cadences
