Access Control Tech TechnicianAccess Control Tech Location: Tampa Bay FL Duration: 6m Contract to hire Start: June 15 (Possibly sooner) Start Times: 7am PR: $22-25 SOW: Responsible for the independent installation of low-voltage and electrical systems, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements and applicable codes.Responsibilities:Perform device rough-in and trim-out for security and life safety systemsMount and install field devices such as cameras, access control hardware, panels, and sensorsInstall and terminate low-voltage cabling, including Cat6, composite, and fiber (as applicable)Read and interpret drawings, wiring diagrams, and scopes of workPerform basic system testing, signal verification, and troubleshootingEnsure all work meets quality standards and complies with NEC and local codesMaintain accurate documentation, including redlines and daily work updatesCoordinate daily tasks with project leadership to support schedule adherenceMaintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsiteFollow all safety protocols including PPE and equipment usageAbility to independently install and terminate structured cabling systemsUnderstanding of grounding and bonding requirementsExperience with device mounting, wiring, and system layoutSkilled in the use of hand tools and power toolsExperience using cable testers, tone generators, and multimetersAbility to operate ladders, lifts, and jobsite equipment safelyDirect hands-on experience installing access control systems is required, including door hardware, readers, controllers, and device wiringAbility to follow system layouts and wiring diagramsAbility to identify and resolve basic wiring and signal issuesAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and riser diagramsStrong understanding of jobsite safety practices and OSHA standardsRequired Skillset:3+ Years of low-voltage or electrical installationExperience with conduit installation and structured cabling systemsExperience installing access control systems is required, including door hardware, readers, controllers, and device wiringAbility to work on active construction sites
