Your Key Responsibilities

TheAccelerated Leadership Development Programis a two-year, high-potential development experience comprised offour six-month rotationsthat provide cross-departmental exposure and leadership development. Each rotation may be located at any of our facilities throughout theNorth American Region (USA, Mexico, and Canada), with the possibility of additional international rotations. Thefirst rotation will begin in Wooster, Ohio. Upon successful completion of the program, participants areguaranteed a permanent position in Wooster, Ohio as an Engineer for AI R&D Enablement.

This Research & Development career path is designed for candidates who are interested in applying AI to R&D and production challenges, improving R&D efficiency, and supporting innovation through prompt engineering, computer engineering, and AI-enabled workflow optimization. This role is likely better suited to candidates with a computer engineering or related background.

Research & Development Responsibilities:

• Partner with a mentor who is an experienced professional leader to develop best practices and evolve into a leader at Schaeffler
• Gain knowledge alongside experts in relevant and cross-functional departments
• Supportsimulation workflow optimization through scripting and AI
• Investigate the creation ofcustom AI agentsandsimulation inferencing through model trainingusing tools such asPyTorchandTensorFlow
• Assist withpost-processing of results for report automation
• Apply AI methods to help improveproduction supportand reduceR&D inefficiencies
• Participate in training based on the70:20:10 model, emphasizing hands-on experience, mentoring, and formal training
• Complete leadership training and use tools to develop leadership skills
• Become equipped for the guaranteed position upon graduation

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering,Computer Science, or a closely related field
• Experience withprompt engineering, AI workflow development, or automation
• Interest in applying AI toR&D enablementandproduction support
• At leasttwo rotations of relevant co-ops or internships
• Experience in a fast-paced environmentpreferred
• Strong background inmachine learningand theutilization of AI in engineering
• Exposure toFEA/CFD/process simulationswith commercial CAD and simulation tools
• Leadership experience or exposure preferred
• Strong understanding ofengineering principles
• Excellentorganization and communicationskills
• StrongMicrosoft Officeskills
• Willingness torelocate every six months
