Academic Specialist/Faculty in Obstetrics and Gynecology

As part of the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine (MSU CHM) Flint Campus, Hurley Medical Center is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist to join us as full-time faculty in the Hurley Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Training Program.

Hurley Medical Center, Flint, Mich., has a diverse patient population and a wide spectrum of cases, delivering approximately 3,000 babies per year. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology comprises a dynamic group of faculty physicians, private physicians, advanced practice providers, and registered nurses. The facility includes a Level III NICU, a Center for Maternal Fetal Medicine, and minimally invasive robotic surgery opportunities with the da Vinci Xi surgical system.

Description

• The ideal candidate can expect to participate in all aspects of obstetrics and gynecologic care, including shifts as a laborist, clinic attending physician, gynecologic surgeon, floor‑rounder, and consultant physician.
• The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Academic appointment.
• Faculty in this position may apply for an academic appointment with MSU CHM at a rank commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical coverage and resident supervision 4‑5 days per week.
• Provide or assist in the administrative duties of the residency program, as assigned by the program director.
• Participate in departmental and institutional committees.
• Participate in the formal teaching of residents and medical students.
• Participate in scholarly activities, as defined by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
