Position Title: Academic Scholar‑Pediatric Pulmonologist; Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor

The Department of Pediatrics in the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo (UB) is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Pediatric Pulmonologist to join a dynamic and growing Division of Pediatric Pulmonology & Sleep Medicine. This is an academic faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, commensurate with experience and academic accomplishments.

Division & Program Highlights

  • Multidisciplinary team includes physicians, nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, research coordinators, dietitian, and social worker.
  • Advanced clinical capabilities: flexible and rigid bronchoscopy, interventional pulmonary function testing, high-resolution CT, genetic and molecular testing.
  • Complex disease management: severe therapy‑resistant asthma, chronic lung disease of prematurity, neuromuscular related respiratory failure, pulmonary complications of systemic diseases.
  • Advanced therapeutic interventions: mechanical ventilation management, airway clearance therapies, critical and multidisciplinary care.
  • Co‑management in pediatric intensive care units with coordination to cardiology, ENT, genetics, and gastroenterology.
  • Long‑term care planning for medically complex children.

Cystic Fibrosis Program (Leadership Opportunity)

Opportunity to lead and further develop a highly established Pediatric CF Center.

  • Accredited by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
  • Active participant in the Therapeutics Development Network (TDN).
  • Leadership opportunities include program growth, clinical trials expansion, quality improvement, and regional/national collaboration.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient and outpatient pediatric pulmonology care.
  • Participate in consult services (PICU, NICU, general pediatrics).
  • Manage conditions such as cystic fibrosis, asthma, BPD, neuromuscular disease, and sleep disorders.
  • Perform flexible and advanced bronchoscopy.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary clinics.

Academic & Research Opportunities

  • Faculty appointment with protected academic time.

  • Collaboration across pulmonary, allergy/immunology, neonatology, and critical care.
