Position Summary
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is seeking an Academic Genitourinary Pathologist for a tenure‑track/tenured, fixed‑term, or variable‑track position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. This subspecialized surgical pathology division seeks candidates with fellowship training and/or expertise in Genitourinary Pathology. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive pathology services that include all aspects of Genitourinary Pathology, and will be responsible for participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards, effective communication with an active clinical care team, and statewide integrated care. Additional coverage in Gastrointestinal, Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology, and/or Cytopathology is encouraged. The candidate will be eligible for membership in the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and will teach clinical residents and fellows as well as students in the School of Medicine, Graduate School, and Undergraduate School.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must hold an MD, DO, or other MD‑equivalent degree, be board‑certified or board‑eligible in Anatomic Pathology, and be eligible to obtain a medical license in North Carolina. The position requires expertise in all aspects of Genitourinary Pathology.
Preferred Qualifications
Fellowship training and/or expertise in Genitourinary Pathology is preferred. Candidates with experience in adrenal resections and biopsies and those willing to provide additional coverage in other subspecialty areas are especially encouraged.
