Academic Faculty, MSN Program Director

Academic Nursing Faculty in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences to serve in the administrative role of MSN Program Director. The MSN Program Director is the academic leader of the MSN -degree academic program. The Program Director is in charge of managing the day-to-day operation of the program as well as the long-term planning and vision of the program in collaboration and partnership with the Department Chair.

Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University’s Mission and Catholic and Lasallian higher education.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate student learning through effective teaching and evaluation of learning
• Serve as an academic advisor, mentor, and advocate for students in the nursing program

Leadership

• Designs and revises program curriculum with the faculty
• Recruits and trains adjunct faculty
• Represents the program in College and University matters
• Participates in promotion, recruitment, and marketing efforts
• Coordinates community partnerships

Management

• Coordinates advising of students in the program
• Coordinates assessment of program Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs), and subsequent action planning
• Participates in instructional evaluation of faculty teaching in the program
• Serves as an advocate for students and a liaison to centralized services supporting students
• Coordinates budgetary issues for the program
• Ensures the academic course catalog and website are kept current with updates to program curriculum and/or policies
• Coordinates with Admissions for the Graduate Nursing Program creates the course schedule for the program, including course rotations and faculty assignments
• Responds to student concerns and issues
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Earned doctoral degree with APRN certification is required. The equivalent of two years of full-time clinical nursing experience. Licensure as a registered professional nurse in the state of Illinois or eligibility with application in process is also required.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in nursing education and/or leadership roles.
