Academic Division Chief of Gastroenterology & Hepatology (NTT)

Job Description

The University of Missouri-Columbia, Department of Medicine is seeking a Division Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology to provide strategic, clinical, academic, and administrative leadership for a growing division. This position is critical to the creation and advancement of a comprehensive Gastroenterology Academic Center, integrating excellence in clinical care, education, and research.

The Division Chief will lead development of research, education, and clinical service, while building and strengthening specialized clinical and academic programs.

The mission of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is to provide a comprehensive and multi-disciplinary approach to digestive health and to teach the art and science of gastroenterology to highly motivated and accomplished internists.

The Missouri Digestive Health Center offers six lines of service with a specialized team of physicians, nurses, and researchers who are highly trained and dedicated to digestive health. These lines of service include:

• Advanced and therapeutic endoscopy
• Colorectal cancer screening
• Liver diseases
• Inflammatory bowel diseases
• Neuromuscular and swallowing disorders
• Nutritional sciences

All ranks available (assistant, associate, full professor) commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• MD/DO
• BC in Gastroenterology

Candidates will be evaluated on a demonstrated record of success in scholarship and patient care, and an aptitude for collaboration, innovation, and program development. Experience in Academic Medicine and leadership is desirable. Commitment to continuous development and growth of clinical services, clinical teaching activities, and research.
