Academic Division Chief, Hospital Medicine

Northwell Health is seeking an Academic Division Chief, Hospital Medicine, to lead the academic mission of research, education, and clinical service at North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center. This role involves translating new knowledge into clinical practice and requires a strong record of scholarship and leadership. The successful candidate will work with departmental and organizational leadership to advance the health system's commitment to high-quality care and medical education.

Practice Info

• Reports directly to the Chair of the Department of Medicine.
• Presence of a large Internal Medicine Residency Program.
• Support for research and innovation to an existing high-quality Hospital Medicine Program.
• Regular participation and leadership in key hospital and medical staff committees.
• Appropriate balance of administrative and clinical time to facilitate management of both campuses.
• North Shore University Hospital is an 812-bed teaching hospital academically affiliated with the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.
• Long Island Jewish Medical Center is a 583-bed teaching hospital academically affiliated with the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the academic mission of research, education, and clinical service at both North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
