Position Overview
The Department of Pathology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) seeks a full-time Clinical Faculty Surgical Pathologist with subspecialty expertise in Breast Pathology. The appointment rank will be Health Science Clinical Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the Health Sciences Clinical or Clinical X series, depending on experience and qualifications.
Qualifications
- MD (or equivalent) and eligibility for a valid California Medical License.
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Anatomic Pathology by the time of appointment.
- Completed fellowship training in anatomic pathology or equivalent clinical experience (minimum 3 years of sign‑out experience) at the time of appointment.
- Formal breast pathology fellowship training preferred.
- Demonstrated interest or scholarly activity in breast pathology preferred.
Responsibilities
- Participate in night and weekend surgical pathology call.
- Teach medical students, house‑staff, and fellows; deliver departmental teaching activities.
- Attend interdepartmental conferences.
- Provide diagnostic services with outstanding diagnostic and interpersonal skills and communicate effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
Compensation
The minimum base salary range is $102,600 - $393,200, commensurate with experience. The position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan, providing eligibility for additional compensation.
