Job Duties
- Teach courses assigned by Administrative Dean and Academic Coordinator. Teaching load will vary and can include regular and non-traditional classes/assignments, including classes during the day, evenings, weekends, and online. Classes shall be met when scheduled and for entire period of time scheduled.
- Work with the school chair, as directed, on annual goals and objectives, strategic initiatives, standards and measures, student learning outcomes (SLO), etc.
- Work closely with the school chair in the continued evaluation and improvement of subject curricula. Update syllabi annually.
- Maintain a familiarity with Learning Lab services available to students and make recommendations for Learning Lab improvements via the school chair.
- Strive to better understand students’ learning styles and work to improve teaching methods, content, and value of each course taught.
- Provide students with course objectives and course outlines that have been approved by the department chair and the Dean.
- Use diverse instructional methodology including audio-visual, computer software, and other technological means.
Mandatory Qualifications
- (M1) Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in subject matter.
- (M2) Ability to teach college-level subject matter courses.
- (M3) Effective written and interpersonal communications skills.
- (M4) Proficient user of learning management systems (e.g., Canvas), Microsoft Office Suite, and other educational technologies.
Desirable Qualifications
- (D1) Experience in teaching subject at the college level.
- (D2) Masters or Doctorate in subject matter from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
- (D3) Online teaching experience.
