Overview

ECU Health Physicians and The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at East Carolina University’s Brody School of Medicine are seeking BE/BC Adult Psychiatrists with a primary clinical focus on addiction medicine to join their expanding behavioral health practice located in Greenville, North Carolina. New graduates and Visa candidates are welcome to apply. The new ECU Health Behavioral Health Hospital, a 144-bed behavioral health facility, will open in the late fall of 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Inpatient and outpatient clinical responsibilities
  • On-site responsibilities with an on-call component (phone only) as first line with residents
  • Academic responsibilities including supervision of addiction and psychiatry residents and teaching of medical students
  • Participation in an expanding, multi-disciplinary, collegial department
  • Maintain and develop a referral network serving a 29-county area with a population of approximately 1.4 million
  • Collaborate with ECU Health Medical Center and ECU Health Behavioral Health Hospital for hospital privileges
  • Contribute to the development of new facilities and programs (e.g., upcoming Medical Office Building)

Qualifications

  • MD or equivalent degree from an appropriately accredited institution
  • Completion of an accredited psychiatry residency or an approved combined medicine-psychiatry or family medicine-psychiatry residency
  • Board eligible/certified in Addiction specialty (psychiatry or medicine)
  • Eligible for medical licensure in North Carolina with current state and federal prescriptive authority and a valid DATA 2000 waiver to prescribe buprenorphine for addiction treatment
  • Eligible for clinical privileges at ECU Health Medical Center
