This is a part-time position with the Abdul for Senate campaign, and is expected to conclude in April 2026, with potential to extend further. Communication Fellows will be paid a weekly stipend of $250 for 15 hours each week.Abdul for Senate is seeking talented candidates to work as communication fellows for the 2026 election cycle. We are looking for passionate, hardworking individuals who are committed to our mission of electing Abdul El-Sayed our next U.S. Senator.Role Overview:Communication fellows will help shape the narrative of our campaign by expressing campaign talking points through traditional and nontraditional media.

Fellows will learn how to create compelling copy that engages voters and amplifies Abdul's message statewide. This will be a part time position based around the state. This position offers compensation in the form of a $250 weekly stipend for an average of 15 hours of work each week.Responsibilities:Assist with journalist research and interview schedulingDraft and edit messaging for press releases, newsletters, and talking pointsMonitor press coverage and compile daily media clipsSupport rapid response and content schedulingAssist with organizing campuses and communitiesOther campaign needs as requiredQualifications (Required):Must have transportation to attend events as neededProficiency with Google Drive and Sheets/ExcelSuperior written and verbal communication skillsAbility to learn new skills and take on new challenges, with a desire to learn and a willingness to ask questionsAbility to balance between competing priorities in a fast-paced, demanding environment while maintaining exceptional organization and attention to detailCommitment to electing Abdul El-Sayed to the U.S. SenateAbility to demonstrate multicultural competence – the awareness, knowledge and skills needed to work with others who are culturally different from self in meaningful, relevant and productive waysPersonal and professional commitment to promoting and investing in cross-cultural skills and awareness related to individuals from broad backgrounds, races, ethnicities, religions, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and disabilityQualifications (Preferred):Previous experience in communications or other campaign work is a plusConnections to Michigan reporters a plusAbdul for Senate is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
