Operations AssistantAbdul for Senate is seeking talented candidates to work as an Operations Assistant for the 2026 election cycle. We are looking for passionate, hardworking individuals who are committed to our mission of electing Abdul El-Sayd our next U.S. Senator.Role Overview:The Operations Assistant is responsible for assisting the Operations Director to ensure that administrative tasks are performed efficiently and effectively to help all campaign departments run smoothly.
This will be a part-time position based in Ann Arbor, MI, although there is flexibility with remote work and a relocation timeline. This position offers compensation in the form of an hourly salary.Responsibilities:Assist the Operations Director with daily tasks and operational issuesAvailable to answer task- and process-related questions from internal and external entitiesAssist with onboarding processes for new employeesOrder and manage office supplies as necessaryMaintain interdepartmental calendarOther campaign needs as requiredQualifications (Required):Ability to manage multiple tasks, stay organized, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlinesStrong problem solving skillsCustomer service-oriented attitudeMust have transportation to attend events as neededProficiency with Microsoft Office and Google DriveWillingness to work irregular hours including some nights and weekendsSuperior written and verbal communication skillsAbility to learn new skills and take on new challenges, with a desire to learn and a willingness to ask questionsAbility to balance between competing priorities in a fast-paced, demanding environment while maintaining exceptional organization and attention to detailCommitment to electing Abdul El-Sayd to the U.S. SenateAbility to demonstrate multicultural competence – the awareness, knowledge and skills needed to work with others who are culturally different from self in meaningful, relevant and productive waysPersonal and professional commitment to promoting and investing in cross-cultural skills and awareness related to individuals from broad backgrounds, races, ethnicities, religions, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and disabilityQualifications (Preferred):A minimum of 6 months work experience in operationsExperience directly managing/staffing a principal is a significant plusKnowledge of campaign finance rulesPrevious experience working in Michigan is a significant plusLocal to the Ann Arbor or immediate areasAbdul for Senate is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
