Abdominal Transplant Surgeon / Surgical Director for Pediatric Liver Transplantation

The Northwell Transplant Institute is seeking a full-time Abdominal Transplant Surgeon with a strong background in Pediatric Liver Transplantation to serve as Surgical Director for Pediatric Liver Transplantation. This role involves partnering with an established Pediatric Transplant Hepatology team at Cohen's Children's Medical Center, a leading pediatric teaching hospital and the only Level-1 Pediatric Trauma Center on Long Island. The successful candidate will contribute to world-class organ transplant care for both pediatric and adult patients within the Northwell Health System.

• The Transplant Institute offers comprehensive adult transplant services for heart, lung, kidney, and liver.
• The Transplant Institute currently offers the only pediatric heart transplant program on Long Island, as well as an established pediatric kidney transplant program.
• The multidisciplinary team is based at Cohen's Children's Medical Center, which is the largest pediatric teaching hospital in the region.
• Cohen Children's Medical Center serves 1.8 million children in Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk counties.
• Transplant procedures are performed at North Shore University Hospital and Cohen Children's Medical Center.
• The Transplant Institute has an expansive network of 40+ office locations.

Compensation

• Competitive salary and benefits package
• Full-time clinical base compensation at Northwell Health ranges from $125,000 to $750,000

Requirements

• Completed ASTS approved fellowship training in Abdominal Transplant Surgery
• Preferred fellowship training in Pediatric Liver Transplantation Hepatobiliary Surgery
• Candidates with significant focus in pediatric abdominal transplant surgery without advanced pediatric transplant/hepatobiliary surgery fellowship may be considered
• At least 2 years post-fellowship experience
• Proven track record of clinical excellence and surgical proficiency
• Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
