This position provides direction to mill team members while ensuring production, quality, and safety standards are met. This role is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude who thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and lead by example with a strong focus on safety and teamwork.Shift: ThirdWhat You'll DoSet up and operate the Abbey steel tube mill to meet production requirementsLead and support Abbey Mill team members to achieve production goalsMonitor tubing quality and implement corrective actions when issues ariseGenerate and apply tags to all manufactured bundlesComplete daily production records and time sheets accurately and submit as requiredEnsure end welder micrometer readings are submitted with production documentationPerform mill changeovers safely, efficiently, and in a timely mannerVerify setups using micrometers, pi tape, levels, and tape measuresMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work areaAttend and participate in scheduled safety meetingsFollow and enforce company safety policies and safe work practicesSupport cross-training efforts and participate in cross-training as neededEnsure compliance with OSHA guidelines, including lockout/tagout and machine guarding requirementsSubmit detailed and accurate work orders for equipment issues as they occurDemonstrate teamwork and effective communication with employees and supervisorsWho You AreManufacturing or mill operating experience, preferredHigh school diploma or GED, preferredAbility to read, interpret, and use micrometers, pi tape, levels, tape measures, and other hand toolsExperience operating equipment such as overhead cranes and ground-operated machineryBasic computer and math skillsAbility to read and write sufficiently to perform job dutiesStrong verbal and written communication skillsSelf-motivated with strong attention to detailAbility to maintain accurate quality and production recordsDemonstrated problem-solving and mechanical comprehension skillsStrong commitment to safety and qualityTeam-oriented mindset with a drive for resultsPhysical AbilitiesWork in a warehouse or mill environment with an uncontrolled climateWear required personal protective equipment at all timesPerform work in dusty and noisy conditions within OSHA guidelinesWork around moving mechanical parts safelyUse hand tools and production equipment as requiredWork scheduled and mandatory overtime as neededMeet additional physical requirements necessary to perform job dutiesWhat You'll GetAtlas Tube at Zekelman Industries offers competitive compensation and excellent benefits, including low-cost, high-quality medical and dental coverage.
