ABAP Lead Developer (SAP)Location: Newark, California (7373 Gateway Boulevard, Newark, CA) Work Mode: 4 Days Onsite Mandatory Rate: DOEPosition Overview: We are seeking an experienced ABAP Lead Developer with strong expertise in SAP technical development, modern integrations, and S/4HANA technologies. The ideal candidate will lead end-to-end ABAP development initiatives, architect integrations with enterprise platforms, mentor developers, and work closely with functional/business teams in a fast-paced automotive environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design, development, enhancement, and support of SAP ABAP objects, including Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows (RICEFW).Architect and implement real-time integrations between SAP and external systems such as Salesforce, Neptune, and third-party platforms using REST APIs, SOAP, and OData.Build scalable interfaces using SAP Gateway, Workato, and SAP BTP Integration Suite.Implement secure authentication/authorization mechanisms for APIs and connected applications.Optimize ABAP programs, SQL performance, database queries, and integration flows for speed and scalability.Troubleshoot system bottlenecks and recommend technical/architectural improvements.Develop solutions using S/4HANA ABAP technologies, including:Core Data Services (CDS Views)AMDPRAP ModelFiori/OData ServicesPartner with functional teams across OTC, PTP, VMS, Service, and Warranty modules.Conduct code reviews, enforce SAP development standards, and promote reusable frameworks.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior/mid-level developers.Work closely with architects, analysts, project managers, and business stakeholders.Translate complex technical solutions into business-friendly communication.Required Skills & Qualifications10+ years of SAP ABAP development experience.3+ years in Lead / Senior Technical Architect capacity.Strong expertise in RICEFW development.Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA.Strong experience with CDS Views, RAP, OData, and Gateway Services.Proven experience integrating SAP with external systems.Strong SQL tuning and ABAP performance optimization skills.Experience with Workato / CPI / BTP Integration Suite preferred.Good understanding of SAP business modules: OTC, PTP, VMS, Service, Warranty.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
