The Computing Solutions Department is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to develop next‑generation product line solutions at Cedar Rapids, IA. The role focuses on designing, verifying, and testing highly integrated computing and graphics systems for safety‑critical avionics applications.

What You Will Do

  • Capture requirements, design, test cases, and procedures in accordance with program development plans and ARP‑4754B objectives.
  • Integrate, validate, and verify system functionality in the laboratory.
  • Collaborate technically across systems, hardware, AEH, and software design functions.
  • Assist in resolving technical problems spanning hardware and software functional domains.
  • Travel 5‑10% as needed.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Degree in STEM with minimum 8 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with minimum 5 years.
  • Experience with safety‑critical systems, hardware, or software development (e.g., DO‑178C, DO‑254, or ARP‑4754A/B).
  • Experience authoring and validating requirements.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with the avionics equipment certification process.
  • Experience working with stakeholders to generate concepts of operations and use cases.
  • Experience authoring in‑depth technical documents.
  • Experience working with and testing embedded hardware and software.
  • Experience developing automated tests using scripting.
  • Excellent communication skills for internal and external customers.
  • Adaptable to change, self‑motivated, and able to collaborate for optimal decisions.

The salary range for this role is $107,500 – $204,500. Eligible hired applicants may be entitled to additional benefits and incentive compensation per company policy.
