A-Class Pipe Welder - Submarines
Location: Mobile, AL Area
We are seeking experienced A-Class Pipe Welders to perform submarine pipe welding work in the Mobile, AL area. Qualified candidates will be required to meet all experience, skill, physical, and employment eligibility requirements outlined below.
Compensation and Benefits
- Up to $1,000 sign-on bonus

Selected candidates will attend orientation on Friday, August 14 and will proceed directly into training on Monday, August 17 .
Essential Qualifications, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Minimum of 10 years of pipe welding experience required.
- Must have experience welding copper nickel alloys .
- Must have experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and copper nickel .
- Must demonstrate the ability to perform restricted open-root welds.
- Must be able to read and interpret basic drawings and weld symbols.
- Must have a full set of personal tools required to perform the job.
- Must successfully complete all required onboarding and welding qualification procedures.
- Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Employees must be able to access and work throughout vessels and shipyard work sites.
The position regularly requires standing, walking, using hands to manipulate and handle tools and materials, reaching with hands and arms, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Employees may also be required to sit occasionally.
Specific physical requirements include, but are not limited to:
- Ability to bend, squat, stoop, crawl, and kneel.
- Ability to perform prolonged standing.
- Ability to turn the head from side to side and about the vertical axis.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 20 pounds frequently.
- Ability to safely climb stairs, scaffolding, ladders, ramps, and other access points.
- Ability to work at heights above 12 feet while using ladders, scaffolding, and/or man lifts.
- Ability to work at various levels, including waist, eye-level, and overhead.
- Ability to safely and appropriately use required tools and equipment.
- Ability to maintain balance while working on uneven surfaces and maneuvering around obstacles.
- Sufficient handgrip and coordination to carry and operate tools and equipment.
- Ability to safely utilize required personal protective equipment in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Ability to work in hot and cold temperatures.
- Ability to enter openings as small as 18" x 36" and work in confined spaces for prolonged periods in accordance with OSHA guidelines.
- Ability to respond to verbal and audible commands.
- Adequate visual ability to perform required job duties.
- Ability to fully extend the arms while reaching overhead, outward, to the side, and downward.
- Ability to perceive characteristics of objects and materials, including size, shape, temperature, and texture.
Candidates must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:
- Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
- Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Person Status.
- Must successfully pass the required background check.
- Candidates must not have previous felony convictions, pending criminal charges, or violent criminal charges that would prevent eligibility for employment or entry into EB training.
- Must be willing to submit to a drug screen.
- Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
