9500 - Senior Accountant

Senior AccountantResponsible for general ledger posting and reconciliation for assigned companies.DutiesPrepare and maintain timely, accurate, and complete financial informationEnsure the integrity of accounting information by verifying, allocating, posting and entering transactionsPerform daily bank reconciliation, including deposits, cleared checks, electronic funds transfers and other transactionsClose all sub-ledgers to the general ledger monthly for assigned companiesPrepare error-free accounting reports and their resultsPrepare accurate account reconciliations regularly on a monthly or quarterly basisParticipate with AR and collections effortsIdentify and research errors, exceptions, or unusual reconciling items and report findings to the Controller as neededProvide support for the annual audit processRemain familiar and compliant with all company policies and procedures in the performance of job duties and regarding individual activities and behaviorsStay up to date with knowledge of the latest business trendsMaintain acceptable attendance in accordance with company policies and departmental standardsConduct self in a professional, courteous, respectful, and friendly manner at all times when interacting with coworkers, clients or vendorsOther duties assigned as neededEducation & ExperienceEducation:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance requiredExperience:4+ years of accounting experience requiredSkills & CertificationSkills:Strong knowledge of accounting principles and proceduresAdvanced proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and accounting programsThorough, accurate and a strong attention to detailStrong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational skillsFlexibility and willingness to work extra hours during month-end close cycleAbility to work independently and effectivelyStrong analytical skillsTypical Physical Demands:Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping. Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
