Radiation Decontamination TechnicianApave America is looking for skilled, safety-driven craft professionals to join our Radiation Decontamination team. This role supports national radiological cleanup, decommissioning, and decontamination projects across the United States.As a Radiation Decontamination Technician, you will:Perform radiological decontamination of tools, equipment, materials, and workspaces using manual, chemical, mechanical, or specialized decon methodsConduct contamination surveys, smear sampling, and verification checksSupport Radiation Work Permit (RWP) compliance: postings, boundaries, and personnel monitoringAssist with containment setups, temporary ventilation systems, and housekeeping within controlled areasMaintain accurate documentation per NRC, DOE, OSHA, and site-specific proceduresOperate decontamination systems and perform routine inspectionsParticipate in radiological cleanup and emergency response activitiesApply ALARA principles and follow all federal, state, and site safety regulationsRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDExperience in radiation decontamination, hazardous materials, nuclear ops, industrial hygiene, or similar fieldsAbility to work in respirators, protective suits, and radiologically controlled areasFamiliarity with radiation detection instruments (friskers, survey meters, etc.)Ability to lift 40–50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasksAbility to travel and work across multiple states as requiredMust meet background check, medical clearance, and site access requirementsPreferred QualificationsExperience working at DOE, NRC-licensed, or DOD radiological facilitiesHAZWOPER 40 certificationKnowledge of NORM/TENORM, nuclear outage work, or environmental remediationPrevious qualification as a Decontamination Tech, RCT Helper, or Health Physics TechnicianExperience with advanced decon technologies (laser, CO?
