Instructional Assistant

Under the general supervision of the site principal and subject to the day-to-day instructions of a classroom teacher, provides academic instruction and behavior management.

Requirements / Qualifications:

- Education equivalent to graduation from high school. - Passing score on district Instructional Assistant Proficiency Exam. - Ability to maintain confidentiality related to student information. - Ability to follow directions and work independently. Desirable Qualifications: - Post secondary education focusing on students with learning disabilities. - Instruction in conflict resolution and behavior management. - Experience or training in learning techniques and strategies. - Ability to operate copier, computer, laminating machine, etc. - Basic computer skills. - Successful experience as a classroom instructional assistant.
