Advances a culture of clinical excellence, patient safety, and continuous quality improvement within pharmacy services. Oversees the assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of policies, procedures, and programs aimed at ensuring safe, evidence-based pharmacologic care across all healthcare settings.

Provides oversight of the system drug diversion prevention, medication safety, medication use policy, and regulatory compliance and accreditation programs across the system. Serves as a key partner in institutional quality and safety initiatives and regulatory compliance.Job Description:EDUCATION:Pharm D. or BS degree in pharmacy from an accredited College of PharmacyCERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:RPH-California Registered Pharmacist within 6 monthsTYPICAL EXPERIENCE: 8 years recent relevant experienceSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:Progressive pharmacy clinical practice experience, including leadership in quality, safety, or clinical program management.Prior leadership role with responsibility for the supervision of pharmacy personnelExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platformsExperience leading a division across a multisite integrated delivery networkExpert knowledge of medication safety, clinical pharmacology, and evidence-based practicesKnowledge of State, Federal and accrediting body regulations and standards, performs in accordance with themProficient in data analytics, quality metrics, and risk management methodologiesDemonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standardsDemonstrates credible leadership presence, with the ability to respond to questions with logic, clarity, calmness and authority; and the ability to motivate and engage othersInterpersonal skills with the ability to deliver presentations to a variety of audiencesDemonstrates effectiveness in achieving goals through individuals without having direct control of those resourcesAbility to build and establish effective working partnership with employees, peers and leaders to achieve business objectivesRequires a strong working knowledge of legal requirements and accreditation standards including National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), The Joint Commission (TJC), Title XXII, United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and United States Pharmacopeia (USP).Job Shift:DaysSchedule:Full TimeDays of the Week:Monday - FridayWeekend Requirements:NoneBenefits:YesUnions:NoPosition Status:ExemptWeekly Hours:40Employee Status:RegularSutter Health is an equal opportunity employer EOE/M/F/Disability/Veterans.Pay Range is $242,070.40 to $387,316.80 / annual salary.

Bay Area Pay Range is $268,902.00 to $430,248.00 / annual salary.The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program.
