Reports to: Building Principal (or designee)
Niles Community Schools is looking for dynamic a 5th Grade Elementary Teacher. Highly-effective communication skills and professionalism required for daily interaction with a diverse workforce, student population, building administration and community.
Required Qualifications:

• Certified in Elementary Education in the State of Michigan
• (K-8 All subjects Self-Contained Classroom); or
• Upper Elementary Education (3-6; ZP)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Endorsed in academic areas, such as Math, Science, Social Studies, English, etc.
• Plans and provides appropriate learning experiences for students on subject matter, utilizing
  course of study adopted by the Board of Education, and other appropriate learning methods
• Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and
  administrative regulations
• Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments in order to evaluate students' progress
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group
  instruction and varied teaching methods in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each
  Student
• Demonstrates knowledge of the Science of Reading and implements evidence-based literacy practices, including explicit, systematic instruction in phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension
