Detailed Job Description:

As a 5G Core SDM Integration Engineer at CompNova in Dallas, TX, you will hold direct technical accountability for the end-to-end deployment, testing, and lifecycle integration of advanced Subscriber Data Management (SDM) network elements within carrier cloud-native environments. Collaborating closely with Tier-1 mobile network operators, cloud platform engineers, packet core architects, and testing teams, you will oversee the seamless transition of subscriber repositories into containerized 5G Service-Based Architectures (SBA).

Your core technical mandate encompasses configuring, integrating, and validating vital SDM network functions, including Unified Data Management (UDM), Authentication Server Function (AUSF), Home Subscriber Server / Home Location Register (HSS/HLR), Equipment Identity Register (EIR), and Network Data Storage (NDS). You will drive Shared Data Layer (SDL) deployment and integration, verifying high-throughput state storage and fast session recovery across distributed database nodes. Working at the intersection of telecom signaling and cloud infrastructure, you will troubleshoot complex LDAP and Diameter protocol flows alongside HTTP/2 RESTful interfaces. You will also orchestrate containerized workloads across enterprise Kubernetes clusters, analyze end-to-end 5G registration and authentication call traces, and execute rigorous system integration tests (SIT). This role demands deep cellular core acumen, hands-on containerization skills, and methodical troubleshooting abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end deployment, system integration, and commissioning of 5G Core Subscriber Data Management (SDM) network functions.
• Configure, integrate, and validate critical subscriber database nodes including UDM, AUSF, HSS/HLR, EIR, and NDS elements.
• Execute Shared Data Layer (SDL) deployment, integration, and database synchronization across distributed multi-site architectures.
• Deploy, administer, and troubleshoot containerized SDM applications running on cloud infrastructure and enterprise Kubernetes platforms.
• Perform end-to-end 5G registration, authentication, mobility, and session management call flow analysis and signaling trace diagnostics.
• Integrate and troubleshoot telecommunications authentication and directory protocols, with specific focus on LDAP, Diameter, and HTTP/2 interfaces.
• Execute comprehensive System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and First Office Application (FOA) validation cycles.
• Generate rigorous technical implementation documentation, integration Method of Procedure (MOP) runbooks, and acceptance test reports.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum 3+ years of hands-on professional engineering experience in telecommunications mobile core network integration.
• Strong, demonstrated technical knowledge of 5G Core Network Architecture (3GPP standards) and end-to-end signaling call flows.
• Extensive hands-on systems integration experience with Subscriber Data Management (SDM) solutions.
• In-depth technical understanding of core SDM network elements: UDM, AUSF, HSS/HLR, EIR, and NDS.
• Proven hands‑on experience deploying and integrating Shared Data Layer (SDL) architectures and distributed databases.
• Strong technical proficiency with cloud infrastructure, networking protocols, and container orchestration platforms utilizing Kubernetes and Docker.
• Solid hands‑on working knowledge of telecommunications signaling protocols, particularly LDAP and Diameter (Cx, Dx, Sh, S6a).
• Excellent diagnostic, analytical problem-solving, and communication skills, with proven capability to deliver in fast‑paced contract environments.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Prior hands‑on integration experience with tier-1 OEM SDM platforms such as Nokia, Ericsson, Oracle, or Mavenir.
• Working familiarity with 5G Service-Based Architecture (SBA) protocols, specifically HTTP/2, REST APIs, JSON, and OpenAPI specifications.
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) accreditation.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (OpenStack, AWS, Azure, or GCP) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Helm, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Current physical residence in or near Dallas, TX, with immediate availability for C2C contract onboarding.
