504 Compliance SpecialistReports to: Director of Student Health & WellnessQualifications:Minimum BA/BS (Master's Preferred) in one of the following:Exceptional ChildrenSchool CounselingSchool Social WorkSchool PsychologySpecial Knowledge and Skills:Ability to organize, coordinate, and deliver district-wide trainingDemonstrated knowledge of Section 504 regulationsKnowledge of Intensive Behavior SupportsUnderstanding of MTSS frameworkMajor Responsibilities and Duties:Oversee district compliance of Section 504Serve as a resource to school-based 504 coordinators, district administrators, school teams, families and community members regarding Section 504Provide training, guidance, and ongoing professional development to staff regarding Section 504 and compliance proceduresDevelop and distribute resources to support compliant practices in documentation and service deliverySupport teams with the development, review, and implementation of Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) as they relate to Section 504Provide Section 504 coverage at the school level as neededAssist with student transitions between EC services and Section 504 servicesCollaborate with district leadership to develop and refine compliance processes and systemsServe as a liaison between Exceptional Children department and other district departments to ensure effective communicationProvides timely, accurate and responsive customer support to schools, programs, and other departmentsPerforms related duties as assigned by the Director of Student Health and WellnessWorking Conditions:Must be able to use a variety of office equipment such as computers, scanners, and copiers. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must be able to work in an office environment and come into direct contact with school system staff, students, external agencies, and the community.

At times requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to ten pounds. The work frequently requires driving automotive equipment. Due to the amount of time spent standing and/or walking, physical requirements are consistent with those for sedentary work.
