The Histology Lab Assistant is responsible for assisting Histology with a variety of tasks. The Histology Lab Assistant may be involved in minimal
Employees are responsible for following all Company policies and procedures. These policies and
procedures will include adherence to regulatory standards such as CAP, CLIA and OSHA,
Loading/Unloading slides
# Running down slides in a series of chemicals in preparation for coverslipping
# Flatting and organizing slides in preparation for the tech to QC
# Scanning predictive markers cases utilizing digital imagining systems
# Instrument maintenance to include topping off chemicals, discarding waste and running cleaning cycles.
# In the absence of the Histology Lab Manager responsible for department oversight and supervision
# Assist in new employee orientation and training
# Maintain communication with the Histology Lab Manager
Employee may be exposed to blood products, knife cuts, hazardous waste and chemical fumes, so appropriate precautionary measures must be followed at all times. Certain situations require eye protection, mask, lab coat and or gloves. Hazardous Waste training required.

High School Diploma or GED
Level I: less than 3 years of relevant work experience
II: 4-7 years of relevant work experience
III: 8+ years of relevant work experience
