Viking Coca Cola 2nd Shift Warehouse Manager
Viking Coca Cola is looking for a Full-Time 2nd Shift Warehouse Manager for our fast-paced St Cloud MN Warehouse location. This position is critical to overseeing the safe, cost‑effective and efficient operations of the Warehouse.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES
The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee the day‑to‑day loading operation to assure that trucks get loaded accurately, safely and on time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in supervision and helps direct the daily activities and productivity of load crew.
- Supervises 3rd Shift Forklift Drivers and assists in the loading of trucks.
- Counts and verifies accuracy of loads and signs pick ticket for accountability.
- Assists in interviews and hires employees.
- Provides training to new employees.
- Identifies employee skills and develops them by coaching and training.
- Provides input on performance reviews and provides continual feedback on performance.
- Assists 2nd Shift Warehouse Manager coordinate work hours including scheduling for breaks, approving time off requests, tracking absences and timekeeping.
- Trains and monitors crew for compliance with safe work practices.
- Assures the warehouse is maintained in a clean and orderly manner.
- Assists the crew by performing duties required for load fulfillment.
- Assists in reworking warehouse layouts.
- Fosters a cooperative and harmonious working climate that maximizes employee morale and productivity.
- Recommends implements and administers preventive maintenance policies and procedures to enhance operations.
- Seeks out efficiencies in warehouse operations and make recommendations.
- Participates in the development of department goals and objectives.
- Serves as backup during absence of Warehouse Manager.
- Ensures that company policies and procedures are consistently administered to all employees.
- Performs check in and checkout procedures for all incoming and outgoing vehicles.
- Assists in jockeying of tractors and trailers as needed.
- Assists with snow plowing & shoveling snow as needed.
- Acts as a point of contact for overnight express drivers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
- Warehouse experience required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Requires organization skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high profile and fast paced environment.
- Requires basic math skills.
- Requires basic computer skills including Excel and Word.
- Requires ability to communicate professionally with all levels of the organization.
- Requires certification to operate a forklift (company may provide).
- Ability to make solid analytical decisions.
WORKING AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
- Work is performed in a warehouse setting.
- Frequently exposed to moving machinery such as forklifts.
- Frequently exposed to fumes and loud noise from moving forklifts.
- Frequently exposed to temperature extremes in the warehouse.
- Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions when moving trucks or loading doors are open.
- Frequently works extended hours (10+).
- Occasionally required to work weekends, particularly around holidays.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Lifting: Ground to Waist Lift (Frequently) Up to 80# (handling 2 cases at a time to maintain production rate) Ground to 60" (Frequently) up to 40# (cans, 20 oz, 2 liters) Ground to 60" (Rarely) up to 55# (5 gallon bibs, pre-mix tanks, co2 tanks)
Carrying: Front Carry (Frequently) up to 100 foot carry up to 80# (two cases of cans, 20 oz, 2 liters)
Pushing/Pulling: Static Pushing and Pulling (Frequently) 100# force required to initiate pallet movement with pallet jack Dynamic Pushing and Pulling (Frequently) 60# dynamic push/pull for variable distances up to 250 ft Dynamic Pulling (Occasionally) pulling shrink wrap with variable force (20-40#) for up to 120 feet from pallet to 60" heights
Ambulatory Activity: Standing/Walking (Frequently to Continuously) standing/walking on variable surfaces throughout entire shift in the warehouse Climbing (Occasionally to Frequently) Step up/down from 12-40" heights to reach products at variable heights in warehouse (mainly in beer room)
Repetitive use of hand/grasping: (Frequently to Continuously) Light to forceful manipulating/grasping of product, carts, doors.
Repetitive forward bending stand: (Frequently) Up to 32 inches in front of body at floor to 60" heights while reaching for product.
Forward bending standing: (Occasionally to frequently) Reaching for and organizing products, wrapping pallets with shrink wrap
Squatting/Stooping/Kneeling: (Frequently) To as low as ground level while picking/stocking product.
