2nd Shift Skilled MachinistWieland is hiring a 2nd Shift Skilled Machinist. This position is responsible for operating and setting up a variety of machines on fairly complicated work to close tolerances. May perform setups for other operators and trains on set standards and company policies. This position calls up programs and performs manual data input.
Makes minor modifications to programs as required with approval and direction of engineering and/or management/supervisors. Employment is contingent upon the applicant's ability to comply with these requirements.ResponsibilitiesPerform advanced setup operations (aerospace, new product, etc.), adjust and check out programming and operate numerically controlled machine tools to perform a complex series of progressive machining operations on a diversified line of work to close and exacting tolerances and finish specification requiring a high degree of skillTroubleshoot issues prior to getting the engineering department involvedAble to setup and run all machines on Production floorTrain others on setup and running of CNC machinesMeasure close tolerances and train others on proper measuring as this position is a Certified First Piece Inspector PLUS all functions of CNC Operator & Advanced CNC Operator:Stack/unload product per instructions and any other material handling as statedEffectively communicate with co-workers and managementProduction quantity entered accurately in ERP systemAccurately input job data per MBP MMS requirementsAccurately measure part per inspection requirements, utilizing various gaging and metrology equipmentParticipate in any team activity as neededBe seen as a "go-to" person to get work accomplishedQualificationsOkuma Multus - 3 - 5 Years of Experience | Setting up programs with low volume and high mixExperience in LatheAbility to follow written and verbal instructionGood written and verbal communicationBasic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)Knowledge of basic mathematicsAdvanced blueprint readingAdvanced understanding of GD&TProper measuring techniques with a variety of gagesKnowledge of ferrous and/or non-ferrous materialsStrong mechanical aptitudeThis position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations ("ITAR"), and the ability to access and handle ITAR "Technical Data" as defined by 22 CFR § 120.15 is an essential function.
