This role is responsible for ensuring productivity targets, health, quality and food safety standards meet company standards. It is the responsibility of the Production Supervisor to lead a team of workers, oversee employee issues and concerns, provide training, and manage performance.Responsibilities:Provide guidance to line leaders and production workforce with respect to performance management, employee relations, awareness of business context/profitability as well as training/development of staff membersEnsure delivery of the production goals and objectives by establishing clearly defined quality methods for staff members to applySupport the Production Manager to ensure the operation remains within budget for labor and throughput; monitor and measure performance to minimize downtime, reduce costs and improve quality and efficienciesComplete required documentation, records and checklist; submit to appropriate management personnelCommunicate and address variances, quality issues and concerns with relevant departments to help identify the causes and implement sustainable corrective actionMonitor the working environment to ensure compliance of company and statutory hygiene, and safety policies and proceduresMaintain confidentiality of all proprietary information, as well as other company data, including personnel informationConduct pre-shift meetings and EOS reportsTouch bases with new employees on a weekly basisCollaborate with commodity, inventory, receiving, shipping and quality departments to ensure an efficient operation workflow, production requirements and reworked product consistently match product specificationsOther core expectations as defined by the companyQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in business administration, supply chain management, engineering or related discipline preferredMinimum of two (2) years' experience in production environment or related supervisory experience requiredIntermediate level Microsoft (MS) Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills requiredKnowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Health and Safety, Food Safety, HACCP principlesUnderstanding of legislative requirements to maintain compliance to all relevant statues and guiding principlesProven ability to lead and motivate a teamExcellent analytical, time management, and organizational skillsCommitment to high professional and ethical standardsSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a teamAbility to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environmentAvailable to work any and all shifts required by the companyMust be flexible to shift assignments as required to meet both customer & business needsWork Environment:Hours of work may vary depending on business needs; role requires flexibilityThis job operates within a refrigerated warehouse, where temperatures range from 45-55°F. The noise level in the work environment can be loud due to packaging machinery, and forklift truck operationThe employee is frequently required to stand; walk; bend; twist; use hands to handle or feel product or packaging; and reach with hands and arms; specific vision capabilities requiredRole routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
