Bettendorf Community School District

Bettendorf Community School District is seeking adedicated, dependable, and detail-oriented 2nd Shift Custodianto join our Operations team. This position plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and community.

Schedule:8 hours per day, 2nd Shift

Hourly Rate:$23.16/hour

Start Date:September 2026

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

• Valid driver's license

• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical

• Pool certification required when assigned to a building with a pool

• Previous custodial experience in a school setting preferred

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and provide verification of employment eligibility as required by federal law

Knowledge, Skills & Responsibilities

• Knowledge of custodial supplies, cleaning methods, and techniques

• Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, and attractive school environment

• Follow all applicable health and safety regulations

• Perform and document routine inspections and maintenance activities

• Work independently with limited direct supervision

• Communicate effectively and professionally with staff, students, and visitors

• Demonstrate strong organization and multitasking skills

• Maintain a friendly, courteous, patient, and adaptable demeanor

• Demonstrate flexibility to meet the daily needs of the assigned school building
