Attendance CoordinatorThe Attendance Coordinator is responsible for monitoring, tracking, and improving student attendance to support academic success and compliance with state and local attendance laws. This role works closely with students, families, teachers, and administration to address attendance barriers and promote a culture of consistent school attendance.Duties and Responsibilities:Maintain accurate daily attendance records using the school's student information systemMonitor student attendance trends and identify patterns of absenteeism and tardinessCommunicate with families regarding absences, tardies, and attendance concernsEnsure compliance with state attendance laws, including truancy reporting and documentationPrepare and submit required attendance reports to school leadership and regulatory agenciesCollaborate with counselors, administrators, and support staff to develop intervention plans for chronically absent studentsCoordinate attendance-related meetings, including parent conferences and truancy hearingsProvide guidance to staff on attendance procedures and policiesSupport student enrollment, withdrawal, and record transfers as they relate to attendanceMaintain confidentiality of student records in accordance with FERPA and school policiesPromote positive attendance initiatives and incentives within the school communityQualifications:Bachelor's degree or higher2+ years of experience in a school setting or administrative role preferredDetailed understanding of current related technologiesMicrosoft Office Suite ProficientKnowledge of attendance laws and regulations (or ability to learn quickly)Strong organizational and data management skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to handle sensitive information with discretionAbout Our School:Girls Global Academy (GGA) is an all-girls public charter high school in Washington, DC.
