Substitute Cleaners (Continuous Recruitment) - Division: Safety, Energy, Facilities Services Supervisor: Director of Facilities Services IIIDescription: This is primarily routine manual work calling for the efficient and economical performance of cleaning and minor maintenance tasks. Work is performed under general supervision according to established procedures. A Cleaner does related work as required.Typical Work Activities:Sweeps and mops floors and stairsDusts chairs, tables, and other furnitureWashes windows, walls, sinks, and other fixturesPolishes furniture and metal furnishingsEmpties waste baskets, collects and disposes of rubbishReplaces soap and towelsWaxes floorsMoves and arranges chairs, tables, and other furnishings and equipmentCleans clothes, equipment, and other laundry items using washing and drying machinesMay load and unload materials, parts, or products manually or using a hoistMay shovel snow from sidewalks, stairs, and other passagesMay direct facility users to appropriate areas and observe their conduct to report violations facility rulesMay open, close, and check building securing windows, locks, and doorsMay collect, fold, sort, and distribute laundry and linen itemsMay perform minor maintenance tasksMay operate motor vehicle to travel from one work site to anotherSalary: $17.00 per hourIN JURISDICTIONS WHERE REQUIRED: Possession and maintenance of the appropriate class NYS driver's license.SPECIAL REQUIREMENT FOR APPOINTMENT IN SCHOOL DISTRICTS / BOCES: Per regulations of the Commissioner of Education, to be employed in a position designated by a school district or BOCES as involving direct contact with students, a clearance for employment from the State Education Department is required.Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: NoneApplication Procedure: Apply online
