Salary: per BEA Master Agreement, dependent upon experience and educational attainment.
BA Step 1: $48,376
BA+ 18 Step 5: $60,442.42
Qualifications:
Valid Elementary Michigan Teacher Certificate (Elementary K-5 or K-8)
Experience teaching Kindergarten, 1st, or 2nd grades preferred
Competency in student management and supervision
Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with students, staff and parents

Essential Functions
- Teaches knowledge and skills in elementary education in accordance with the district and state curriculum.
- Promotes critical and creative thinking and analysis in all related subject areas.
- Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small- group instruction, and student learning.
- Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and employs data-driven strategies to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn and apply behavioral and academic MTSS models
- Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops, or professional meetings.
- Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement, and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
- Ensures effective communication with students and parents.
- Collaborates with special education staff to implement accommodations and/or modifications as outlined in IEP's.
- Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
- Works collaboratively with colleagues and administrators to improve student achievement.
- Maintains a professional demeanor with reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Completes assigned duties that contribute to the district's mission and vision.
