Project Engineer & Estimator | Luxury Single-Family Residential | Southern CaliforniaThis role blends detailed cost estimating with day-to-day project coordination. The ideal candidate is comfortable reviewing architectural plans, producing comprehensive budgets with some oversight, and supporting project management field execution to ensure projects remain on schedule and financially aligned.Core ResponsibilitiesAnalyze architectural and structural drawings to prepare detailed cost estimatesPerform quantity takeoffs for custom homes, major renovations, and ground-up buildsDevelop localized budgets covering labor, materials, permits, and appropriate contingenciesConduct cost analysis based on current market pricing and regional conditionsAssist with bid preparation and scope clarification to minimize financial riskIdentify gaps or inconsistencies in plans prior to construction startProject Engineering & AdministrationCoordinate daily construction activities and subcontractor communicationManage project documentation including contracts, change orders, invoices, and permitsSupport scheduling efforts and monitor milestone progressTrack procurement and material deliveriesMonitor job cost performance and maintain alignment with approved budgetsFacilitate communication between ownership, consultants, and trade partnersTechnical SkillsExperience with construction takeoff and estimating softwareProficiency in plan review and digital markup toolsFamiliarity with cost databases and budgeting platformsWorking knowledge of construction management software systemsProfessional SkillsStrong attention to detail and organizational disciplineAbility to interpret complex construction documentsKnowledge of residential building codes and permitting processesExperience managing subcontractor and vendor relationshipsClear written and verbal communication skillsQualifications3–6 years of experience in construction estimating, project engineering, or project administrationExperience in custom residential, luxury remodels, or high-end ground-up construction strongly preferredBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred but not required.
