Overview
Job Title: Assistant Manager
Essential Function: Store Managers are responsible for hiring, developing and leading all store associates while ensuring optimal customer experiences, effectively overseeing all store operations, and maintaining brand standards. Assist in developing strategies and plans to achieve key performance indicators and financial targets through business analysis, action planning, effective communication and consistent accountability. Assistant Managers, as part of their development, support the Store Manager in all areas outlined below and are responsible for all Primary Duties when the Store Manager is not present.
Responsibilities
- Brand (30%): Supervise and support associates to deliver an exceptional client experience, maximize sales/KPIs, drive customer loyalty, and ensure brand standards (merchandising, POGs, marketing, back rooms, dress code, etc.). Act as main point of contact to resolve customer issues. Analyze store trends to anticipate customer demands.
- People (30%): Engage, train and develop teams to achieve positive results. Recruit to build a network of candidates; address opportunities through coaching or counseling. Enforce Company policies and expectations; resolve associate concerns and keep staff informed of Company information. Build relationships with Store Manager peers; maintain consistent communication with AM/DM. Promote diversity, inclusion and belonging.
- Operations (30%): Ensure execution of company processes through training, management, analysis and continuous improvement. Utilize digital strategies, including Omni-channel fulfillment (SFS/SDD/BOPIS).
- Inventory and staffing: Manage inventory through ordering and shipment processing; schedule payroll hours to meet business needs; ensure proper store opening and closing procedures; follow Company directives and projects.
- Safety/Loss Prevention (10%): Maintain a safe store environment; enforce policies; protect company assets through inventory and cash control procedures. Analyze reports and utilize tools; ensure compliance with HAZMAT training and execution.
Knowledge, Skills/Abilities And Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Minimum 3+ years retail sales/customer service experience preferred
- At least 1+ year(s) prior management experience preferred
- Ability to lead or support a team to meet business objectives
- Effective communication with team and management
- Scheduling availability to meet business needs
- Cosmetology license desirable, but not required

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
