We are currently recruiting a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner and FNP specialties for a full-service primary health care system located within the San Antonio, TX area. Clinic hours. At least 2 years of FNP experience required. Position offers a competitive salary and robust recruitment package. FNP specialties openings are Immunology and Rheumatology.

Description
The Family Nurse Practitioner reports to the Director of Family Medicine regarding administrative, provider relations and other day to day guidance. Assigned to supervising physician under the Texas Medical Board for medical consults and abides by appropriate clinical protocols. Provides quality, comprehensive out-patient primary health care services to the Clinic's Family Medicine patients of all ages.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Examines, diagnoses, treats and/or refers patients assigned to physician’s panel, on an out-patient basis. Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions consulting with supervising physician.

2. Maintains a problem-oriented health record for each patient seen in accordance with the company's established Health Informatic Management policies and procedures to include providing appropriate and legible documentation. Completes thorough documentation of each patient’s visit in the electronic health record and ensures encounters are closed within 24 hours in accordance with the facilities established Health Information Management policies and procedures.

3. Assures continuity of care by providing medical services on a timely basis as per Clinic schedule within the clinics scope of practice and the Nurse Practitioners training.

4. Refers patients for appropriate specialty care services, lab and x-ray and any other ancillary services that are appropriate for patient’s management and care consulting with supervising physician as needed.

5. Reviews all lab and x-ray reports for patients under his/her care on a timely basis and makes medical management decisions appropriately.

6. Maintains appropriate productivity standards of specialty as established by the Company; maintains appropriate and efficient patient flow and minimize schedule changes and absences.

7. Provides excellent internal/external customer service via telephone, fax or face-to-face contact to assist patients with their health care needs.

8. Trains and mentor's medical students and clinical support staff engaged in activities and procedures, as appropriate

9. Follows established departmental and clinic policies, procedures, and objectives; continuous quality improvements objectives and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.

10. Participates in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs as needed i.e. diabetes collaborative/health fairs etc.; attends and participates in clinic meetings / departmental meetings and other clinic functions as required by the Company.

11. Performs other related duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s Degree from an accredited university in a Nurse Practitioner Program

Board Certified AANP, ANCC or related required

Previous experience as Family Nurse Practitioner required

Must have current unrestricted license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner from the Texas Board of Nursing

Annual continuing medical education as required by board specialty

Must be registered and have current DEA

Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred

Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), American Heart Association
