Position Overview
Blue Plate Catering is seeking a professional, high-energy Catering Chef to join our award-winning production team. This role requires a chef who is equally skilled in large-scale prep and precise on-site event execution.
Primary Responsibilities
Production: Execute daily large-scale food preparation and assembly according to established quality standards.
Event Execution: Lead back-of-house operations at catered events, ensuring food quality and portion control in the field.
Safety & Sanitation: Maintain a clean, organized workspace in strict accordance with Health Department codes.
Logistics: Assist with event setup, deliveries, and breakdown as needed.
Consistency: Manage multiple dishes simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
Qualifications
Experience: Proven background in high-volume food production (catering or banquet experience preferred).
Versatility: Ability to transition seamlessly between bulk prep, line cooking, and guest-facing service.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 60+ lbs and handle the physical demands of a fast-paced catering environment.
Driving: Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record (required for operating company vehicles). A background check is also required.
Communication: Fluency in English is required for effective coordination with kitchen and front-of-house teams.
Availability: Flexible schedule with mandatory weekend availability.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive Pay: $23.00 $27.00/hour based on experience.
